    October 24, 2021—When Paul arrives in Jerusalem with the good news of how many Gentiles have become Christians, he gets a reality check. James informs him that many Jewish Christians believe that Paul has been teaching things that he has not. In order to persuade them differently, they have a plan for him to partner with some men who have made a vow and pay their way. While he’s at the temple, he is accosted by Jews who think (falsely) that he has polluted the temple. So Paul winds up in Roman custody, setting the scene for the rest of the book of Acts.

He reminds us of the need to protect the church from false teachers. Finally, he reminds us that it is our job to point people to new life in Christ.
