Demolished and Rebuilt
Series: Amos
Have you ever watched any of those home improvement shows where they take a house that is completely falling apart and totally restore it?  I love to watch those shows because I love to armchair quarterback the decisions that they make as though I can do any of these things.  But mostly, I like to see the finished product.  Anytime that they do one of these renovations, they must take out a lot of bad stuff, and many times they must tear it to the studs to rebuild it.  God must do that with us as well.  As we finish out the prophecy of Amos today, we get to see the finished product at the end of it all.  And after all the talk of destruction that we have seen, it turns out that there’s good news at the end of it all which is restoration.

    Series: Amos
Have you ever been given a job that is way outside your ability?  This is what happened to Amos, a simple sheep breeder from Tekoa.  God gave him a message to deliver to the people of Israel.  He was not a prophet, and had never been trained, but he obeyed anyway.
